On its surface, what's not to love? A big yellow bird, a grumpy green grouch, and tons of friends that are always up for an impromptu sing-a-long. But we are here to tell you that this movie is a dark, sad, and twisted tale about what happens when the powers that be think they know what's best. Why Sesame Street picked this plot for their first feature-length film, we'll never know, but check out this episode to learn more about the 1985 classic, Follow that Bird.

Why are these people always rushing to get to and/or running late for their illegal, after-hours attempted murders of one another? I just feel like this should be something you plan your day around, you make a schedule for, you leave a little early for to beat traffic for - but, no, not this group of ragtag, totally messed up, amazing looking medical students who perform experiments on one another in an under construction art museum/medical school. Guys, get ready, it's 1990's Flatliners. Bacon, Baldwin, Sutherland, Roberts... PLATT! What a time to be alive or in this case, half dead while your "doctor" friends try to resuscitate you.

Get excited guys, we are dipping our toe into the 1970's this week, with Emily's insane, yet incredible choice of 1978's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Never before have I meant it more when I say this movie has everything... Peter Frampton, Peter Frampton in overalls, feathered bangs, weird robots, the Bee Gees, Phyllis Diller, Steve Martin, the 5th Beatle, and Steven "look at my beautiful mouth" Tyler. Want to know what it doesn't have? A script. That's right, no words, just songs. And somehow, despite that, I can still promise you, that you'll be delighted. De. Light. Ed.

Who framed him? We honestly could not tell you. Why? We don't know that either. This week we are watching 1988's Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, a film that delighted neither of us and really made us question the fact that Disney has a whole area dedicated to this odd cartoon rabbit. I think this firmly falls into the boy movie category (we're looking at you, Jessica Rabbit) and for that you are welcome. For those of you who love it, we'd be happy to hear what all the fuss was about...

Oh boy, guys... I have some great news for you. If you thought deeply buried psychological trauma wasn't a thing, this episode is here to prove otherwise. How do we know, you ask? Well, we watched 1985's old people go to space drama, Cocoon and Kim had a nervous breakdown on mic. You'll love it - we promise.

Somebody get me Annette! This week on the pod, we're going Back to the Beach to watch this quirky 1987 film starring Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello and Lori Loughlin. It's campy, it's silly, it has Pee Wee Herman in it - what more do you guys want?

John Candy and Dan Aykroyd being silly in the woods with a big bald butted bear and some sassy-mouthed raccoons - this is all we needed in the 80s to be happy. What can I say? It was simpler time. Today on the pod we are watching 1988's The Great Outdoors - a fine, fine film and one we will happily fist fight the haters on. You've been warned.

Hey you guys... we're back, Con Connies! Greetings and salutations, friends - we've missed you so very much and greatly appreciate your patience while we took a much longer than anticipated break. Don't worry, in no way, shape or form did we get our shit together while we were off, so you can expect the same level of madness and procrastination you loved in season 1! This week we jump right in with 1990's Pump Up the Volume starring my one true love (don't tell my husband), Christian Slater. True to form, one of us absolutely hated this movie and it's high cringe factor, while the other only partially paid attention while she tried to come to terms with the fact that Christian Slater is only 5'9" and our spooning game would be weak at best. Either way, we are happy to see you and can't wait to spend season two with you!

If you listen to this show you know that if there's one thing Kim and I hate, it's a bucket list. However, watching this movie together would have been on ours if we approved of such things.
Listen to us try to talk about a movie that makes no sense to anyone and probably shouldn't exist...but we are so glad it does. BONUS: You also get to hear us talk about another V.C. Andrews book a lot in this episode - My Sweet Audrina. We may actually talk more about that book than this movie, but who's counting? Not us.
We are cooking up Season 2 and can't wait to share it with all of you!!

Look, we are silly people. We laugh uncontrollably at the dumbest things. We spent a week cracking up about a meme that alluded to a toilet getting married. At the end of the day, we are basically 10 year old boys trapped in the bodies of wildly elegant and beautiful middle aged women.
All that being said, I think we held back a little on some of our early episodes and didn't fully let that red freak flag fly... until this episode. One Crazy Summer is a goofy movie, a goddamn delight and the film that helped us stop pretending to be normal and start acting like our weirdo selves. If you haven't listened yet, do yourselves a favor and give it a go. We talk about fart-related deaths, dog doctors, and other funny stuff - you'll love it.
We will be back with season 2 real soon. In the meantime catch up with us on Instagram, TikTok and more - you know how to find us.
xo, Kim
