Look, we watched Peggy Sue Got Married for this week's episode and I am pretty sure it was fine. I think we may have even liked it... I know there was some hubbub around Nick Cage's affect and also it seemed real crazy that Francis Ford Coppola was the director... Like, what? Really? Weird. Anyway, that's a pretty good recap considering we were basically being haunted by a malevolent spirit during the taping of the episode. In Savannah. The most haunted city in America. It was terrifying and we definitely weren't overreacting to being in a strange place for a week. That's not our style. We're cool. 

Listen, we are at the stage of life where a little goes a long way in bringing us joy. We seek it out. We love to be delighted. We are desperately seeking the serotonin boost that comes with a free gift, a blind box, or a sweet treat. And I will tell you what, y'all... this week's movie really hit the spot. Burt Reynolds - charming. Sally Field - lovely. Jerry Reed - hit maker. Guys, we watched 1977's Smokey and the Bandit and we haven't stopped singing East Bound and Down since. Who would have thought? Not me.

Tom Cruise and the girl from Ferris Bueller are in this. It's fantasy movie and there are little guys and kids that talk like men, oh and dead unicorns, and Tim Curry is the devil - maybe? I know he's the bad guy. That's really all I remember. Sorry. Wait, it's called Legend and it came out in 1985. Enjoy!

We went ahead and watched 1984's Revenge of the Nerds, and let's just say this: you never, ever need to think about this movie again. Like... ever. It's cool, the nerds will be okay.
So why did we watch it? Because nostalgia is a liar, and someone has to call it on its bullsh!t. Have a great week!

I gotta tell ya, sometimes our life is very difficult... I mean, we watch all these movies that we simply loved in our youth and we forget, ya know? Or maybe it's just that we had little kid brains and those mini minds were like "oooh a mermaid, I freaking love mermaids" and then didn't pay attention to much else. But, here we are now, crabby adults with a podcast and we watch it all again and we are disappointed and sad, and a little bit mad at Ron Howard. TOM HANKS CAN'T JUST LIVE IN THE OCEAN FOREVER! Guys, this week it's 1984's falling in love with a fish comedy - Splash!

Well, Emily is back on her bullsh*t... In our first and possibly last Christmas episode of the season, we're watching a fanciful fever dream of a film - 1985's Dudley Moore vehicle - Santa Claus: The Movie. Inexplicably, a British fave, this movie struggles to find it's plot and may have been written by someone who has never seen a movie before. All that being said, bravo to the set designer of the film - they really went for it and by it we mean all of it. No expense spared, no color unused.

Guys, I feel like we don't say this very often on this podcast, but you know what? In the spirit of the holiday season, we are going to do it today. By golly, we love this movie so so so so so so so much. You'll be able to detect our affinity for it by all the crying we do in the second half of the episode. It's just wonderful and sometimes you need that, you know? Life is kinda hard, and the cold weather makes you sad, and the darkness is so, well... dark and you're just tired. So tired. And every now and again you need to watch a movie that leaves you feeling nice and sparkly on the inside and makes you smile and sigh and scream BOOOOOOO at all your friends and family for the rest of the week. So yeah, this is The Princess Bride from 1987 and we like it. A lot.

All you Rocky gals are going to be pumped for this week's episode! What? THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A ROCKY GIRL?!?! I mean, yeah obviously and yet, inexplicably, Emily brought Rocky IV to the podcast this week. We went ahead and watched it, but we don't have many nice things to say about the experience and we are ladies who love a good montage. I found it highly unbelievable that anyone on earth cares this much about boxing, Emily disagrees. Come hear about that and James Brown and people wearing jeans for the wrong activities - AGAIN!
