Starring Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, this movie remains iconically schwingy and you can utter your eternal thanks to it for giving Rob Lowe his first comedy role. Oh and Bohemian Rhapsody is there. Five stars.

So, you know that thing when you are at your psychic club meeting and you get bamboozled into finding a lost Incan City in Ecuador by the guy who played Columbo? No? Seriously? Huh. Okay, well then you may not relate too much with this movie, but it does have Cyndi Lauper and Jeff Goldblum in it, so at least you have that to look forward to, right? Guys, it's 1988's Vibes.

Look, I want to write something clever here, but the truth is, it's been a few weeks since we watched this bleak little movie about sad people in 1935 America and I just don't have it in me. It's 1984's Places in the Heart. I think Emily cried. I am sure I got mad. Sally Field, John Malkovich, Ed Harris, and Danny Glover are in it. They did a good job. What else do you want from me? Are you really reading this blurb to decide if you want to listen this week? You either do or you don't okay - don't put this much pressure on me.

Dirty Dancing

Look, sometimes, even after 30 years of solid friendship, you aren't really able to fully commit to a relationship because you just don't share the same mores and beliefs. For Emily and I, it was never politics or religion keeping us distant - it was the fact that she had never really seen Dirty Dancing. I mean, what in the actual? Finally though, that barrier has been torn down and we have truly bonded over the wonder that is Patrick Swayze in this movie. I think this friendship is finally going place, guys. Holy smokes, guys - we. are. back. This movie teaches an important lesson, if someone wrongs you in the amount of at least $608 you need to make a very big deal about it. Confront the enemy, go on the lam, steal some stuff (but leave a note), cut your hair, start a movement - I mean, after all, fair is fair.

Wow guys, I really don't know what to tell you, except that the 80s as a decade was not holding back on being confident in their controversy. This week, we're watching Maid to Order, a 1987 film that is bold in its privilege and use of terrible songs to cover a complete lack of storyline. If you have fond memories of this movie, you probably forgot the premise, the plot and just how terrible Ally Sheedy's hair is in this thing. I mean bad. It's the most fun! When the world feels absolutely bananas, sometimes you just gotta lean into movies that make you a happy even if they contain somewhat questionable material. This week we are sipping on bevos, calling each other sweet potatoes and watching 1989's Shag. Set in 1963, this movie contains some delightful teens as they venture to Myrtle Beach for one last goonie weekend. There's kissing, there's  teasing, there's squeezing and of course, there's blowing your top. You're gonna love it.
